This story is not just about survival — it's about the power of life that breaks through even when everything seems against it.
Little Yan was born with a severe brain condition. Just hours after birth, he was rushed to the intensive care unit at Okhmatdyt — tiny, helpless, with only hope for a miracle. And miracles always begin with people.
We remember that day clearly. Yan’s mother was in the ICU — frightened, exhausted, with trembling hands and tearful eyes. We stood beside her. Doctors, nurses, our team — all tried to support her as best we could. She held on to her son’s life, and we held on to her.
And beside her were real-life angels.
We are especially grateful to the group of friends who not only helped but came to the hospital personally and handed Yan’s mother UAH 100,000 for his treatment.
When it seems like the world has become indifferent, such people remind us there is hope. This was a gesture that saved a life.
Thanks to compassionate hearts, your support, and brilliant doctors — Yan survived his surgery.
Today, we are proud to say: he is home.
This victory was made possible by many:
- Our deep thanks to department head Larysa Vasylivna Nikonova and the entire ICU team for being the first to meet these babies in the hardest moments
- Our heartfelt gratitude to neurosurgeon Pavlo Mykolaiovych Plavskyi and his team for giving Yan a chance to live
- Warm thanks to Svitlana Yakivna and the neonatology department for their daily care
- Reanimatologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, support staff — each of you played a part in this miracle
Thank you to everyone who was there:
- To Ms. Liudmyla Omokoh — for sending Saint Nicholas to visit the hospital.
- To Ms. Iryna Saakova — for handmade knitted gifts.
- To TM Betis, Humanitarian Nova Poshta, and all who supported with kind words, help, and prayers.
Yan is now home. And that’s the most important thing.
This is our shared victory.
