Three years of rescuing children in the most difficult times

February 24, 4:40.
Exactly three years ago, the world around us changed forever. Cities were engulfed in flames, phones were ringing non-stop, and hearts froze with uncertainty.

4:40 a.m. Ukraine.
Explosions, fire, crying, despair, tears. And amidst all this – children who needed to be saved. Those we rescued every day suddenly found themselves in even greater danger.

Babies who had spent a year in the hospital since birth. Children who had undergone dozens of surgeries. Infants on life support. Someone was rushing to the hospital in an ambulance but never made it…

Hospitals were bustling with life. And within hours, wounded children began to arrive. Children with bullets in their bodies. This became the new reality. We didn’t know how to act, but we knew one thing: they could not be left without help.

Little Illusha from Berdyansk, who had spent a year in the hospital, was preparing to go home, but the war took that chance away from him.
Little Melania, who after cancer surgeries was forced to hide in a basement.
Yegor, an orphan on dialysis, was left without the possibility of treatment.
And there are hundreds of such stories.

The most critical situation began: a child with a bullet in their neck, without family, without hope. We knew – we had to act.

The evacuation began. Sofia was the first. Her journey to Rome became historic. At that time, no clinic accepted Ukrainian children for free. We begged, pleaded, and searched for a way out.
It was at that moment that the private clinic of the Pope opened its doors to our children. And this became the beginning of a large-scale rescue.

Evacuation trains.
Military planes.
Hundreds of European ambulances.
Over these three years, we have saved thousands of children.

Do you know how tightly a child hugs when fighting for life alone?
Do you know how loudly the heart of a baby left in a “window of life” beats?
Do you know how a mother cries when she realizes her child needs chemotherapy, and explosions are all around?

We are inspired by doctors who spent 40 days without leaving the operating room.
Volunteers who went to rescue children after work.
People who gave their last to help.

If it seemed like we couldn’t handle it – we became even stronger. We learned to do more, make plans, and open new opportunities. We believe that our mission will change the history of Ukraine.

Yes, there were tears. But today, these are tears of gratitude. Gratitude for every life saved.

Nothing will stop us because we are together.
Together, we are stronger.
Together, we can save even more children.
Together, we are building the future.
Together – our strength. Together, we are a big heart!
