Friends, today we are sharing news that weighs more than a thousand words. Our little Matvii is home.
This is not just a discharge. This is the end of a superhuman journey that is beyond many adults.
Little Matvii survived 25 brain surgeries.
Over a year of life – in hospital wards.
Intensive care units. Complications. Critical conditions. Non-standard solutions.
And a daily struggle for the right to simply live.
This is the story of a child rescued by the entire country.
And this is a story of what real help on a grand scale looks like.
Our deepest bow to the Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital and the entire multidisciplinary team.
Special thanks to the head of the neurosurgery department, Pavlo Mykolaiovych Plavskyi, and his large team.
Neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, resuscitators, nurses – you were there in the most critical moments.
In cases like little Matvii's, there are no standard protocols.
And that is why the team of doctors sought unique, complex, sometimes the only possible solutions to save the child's life.
Specialists from various fields were involved in little Matvii's rescue.
Sincere thanks to urologist Maksym Viktorovych Ponomarenko and all the specialists who joined this fight.
We are endlessly grateful to everyone who became a part of this rescue story:
– the dobro.ua platform for supporting little Matvii and the opportunity to unite thousands of kind hearts around him;
– Alina for constantly replenishing the Emergency Fund, thanks to which we could act immediately, without losing precious time;
– the Ans affiliate charity auction for the help that became a real chance at life;
– the MAUP International Lyceum for providing little Matvii with a programmable shunt system;
– every Earthly Angel who donated, shared, prayed, believed and did not give up with us.
We thank Liudmyla Omokoh and all the benefactors of the "Mykolai from Abroad" campaign for the wonderful gifts that gave the boy a smile and a sense of real holiday. Your kindness is a ray of light for children who have been through so much.
This story is an example of what true unity for a child with an extremely severe diagnosis looks like.
And there is one more very special sign.
On the birthday of Earthly Angel Mrs. Kateryna, little Matvii went home.
Sometimes life puts such symbolic dots that are impossible not to feel with the heart.
Today, little Matvii is not in intensive care.
Not under IV drips.
Not in a ward.
He – is home.
In warmth.
In love.
With a chance at life outside hospital walls.
This story is not just about one child.
It is a story of what the real power of charity looks like.
About the fact that even the most severe diagnoses are not a sentence when there is a big heart nearby.
Thank you to everyone who became a part of little Matvii's miracle.
Together we are a big heart that saves children.
