We look at little Angelina and cannot believe that two years ago this child went through such a terrible ordeal.
Then a Russian missile took the life of her father, leaving her, her two brothers and sister orphaned. Angelina suffered multiple shrapnel wounds, serious eye injuries and crushed legs, and her older brother sustained severe arm injuries.
The Mother and Child Charity Foundation learned about the tragedy when the children were still in hospital in Kharkiv. Their condition was critical, and we knew we had to act immediately. Thanks to the support of many kind people, we managed to organise the transportation of Angelina and her brother to Kyiv, where they were treated at the Dobrobut private medical clinic. Under the close supervision of doctors and psychologists, the children received the necessary help and support.
Thanks to our partners, the children were transported to the Vienna Central Hospital, where, after a difficult but steady journey, they are on the verge of recovery.
We are sincerely grateful to everyone who contributed to the rescue of these children. Thanks to your concern, we managed not only to save lives, but also to give children a chance for the future. We are grateful to the doctors who were there around the clock, to the social services that helped organise treatment, and to all the people who cared, supported and helped. Without your help, this would not have happened.
Now the children are with their loving parents, the hardest part is over. We continue to support Angelina and her family and believe in their bright future.
Together we have proved that true strength lies in unity and caring for each other. Together we are a big heart!
