Friends, we're sharing our common joy and pride!
An unusual gift on St. Nicholas Day – 11-year-old Karyna learned that she would receive a donor kidney. The girl had waited five years for it.
At six, Karyna ended up in Okhmatdyt. Her kidney failed, and later her parents abandoned her. All this time, only volunteers and medical staff were by her side, and the girl's life was maintained by hemodialysis – an artificial kidney machine.
Volunteers of the public organization "Mother and Child" raised money – 60,000 euros. Guardianship was arranged, and the child was sent for examination to Minsk. Doctors there agreed to operate on her, and they assure that the wait for a donor won't be long.
After all the courts and hearings, our volunteer from the charitable organization "Mother and Child" became her guardian. Funds were collected in just a couple of months, and as soon as we had the bill in hand, an unknown benefactor learned about it. This person wished to remain anonymous and fully paid for Karyna's treatment.
