When fighting for children's lives becomes a lifelong mission

The founder of the Charitable Organization "Mother and Child", Alla Vasylivna, spoke at a women's forum and shared with the audience an experience that has never been just work for her.

An experience of fighting for children's lives. Decisions that need to be made immediately. Faith when there is almost no chance.

She is often asked how the war has changed the foundation's approach to helping.

It has changed it significantly. It has scaled both the challenges and the responsibility.

The foundation is engaged in saving children's lives and health. And the war, unfortunately, has only increased the number of children who need urgent help, treatment, evacuation, rehabilitation and long-term support.

Many foundations during the war shifted their focus to supporting the Armed Forces. The Charitable Organization "Mother and Child" remained one of those foundations that systematically work specifically with children – investing in their health, treatment, recovery and future.

At the forum, Alla Vasylivna spoke about children whom the foundation evacuated during the war.

About Sofiyka, who lost her mother, her cat and her arm.
About Kyrylko, whose family died, and who himself had serious injuries and risked never walking again.
About children for whom the foundation sought treatment abroad, organized transportation, doctors, rehabilitation – and fought for every opportunity to save lives and vital functions.

Alla Vasylivna always says: if there is at least one percent chance of saving a child – the foundation will fight for it.

In the foundation's history, there were children who were given almost no prognosis. But the team believed. Sought solutions, did everything possible. And returned health and the opportunity for a full life to children.

Separately, Alla Vasylivna thanked Tetiana Volynets – one of the foundation's first and largest benefactors, who has been systematically supporting the organization's work for many years.

It was valuable for the founder to see her among the guests of the forum. And especially touching – to hear her warm words after the speech.

Behind every such person is not just help. There are saved stories behind it. Children who received timely treatment. Families who felt support. Destinies that were changed.

The foundation immensely values every benefactor, because with each one there is a special story of trust, support and joint struggle.

And it is thanks to this support that the foundation can do the most important thing – save Ukrainian children.
