The story of little Mariyka

Mariyka is almost three years old. Her life is a story of struggle that began from the moment she was born. That’s when we first met her, when the little one needed support. Together with the girl, we went through many surgeries, including the installation of a shunt.

…An ambulance brought Mariyka to the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Ohmatdyt," where she was awaiting another surgery. But on July 8th, the hospital was attacked by enemy missiles. All the children, including Mariyka, were urgently evacuated to another hospital.

That day will forever remain in our memory. We remember the relief we felt when Mariyka's mother finally got in touch from the shelter in Ohmatdyt and told us that they were alive and well. It was a moment that brought hope to all our hearts.

We are grateful to everyone who took part in saving the lives of Mariyka and other children. People from all over the world came together to help the children who were in the hospital on July 8th. Ukrainians were more united than ever—celebrities, bloggers, and public figures acted as one to save our little citizens.

A heartfelt thank you to the doctors who work around the clock under any conditions to save lives—Pavlo Plavskyi, Andriy Harkusha, Svitlana Starenka, and Olha Zarudnia.

Special thanks to Oleksandr, who provided Mariyka with all the necessary materials for her surgeries, transferring 190,000 hryvnias to her mother. His help was crucial for the life of our little heroine.

We sincerely hope that soon we will all meet together at Mariyka’s discharge and introduce her to her Earthly Angel, who ensured she had everything she needed. Thank you to the kind hearts that help make miracles happen!
