Newborn Olya leaves the hospital after fighting for her health

Newborn Olya has endured a challenging journey fighting for her health since the very first day of her life.

The girl was born with Spina Bifida, underwent spinal cord surgery within hours of birth, and later critical brain surgeries due to hydrocephalus, a common condition associated with this diagnosis.

Now, the little one is finally leaving the hospital walls and returning to the warmth of her home. Her happy eyes are the greatest gift to everyone who supported her in this fight.

Children with Spina Bifida face significant challenges from the first minutes of life. This congenital defect can lead to paralysis, organ dysfunction, and severe infections. Surgeries in the first hours of life provide these children with a chance for a fulfilling future. Thanks to timely medical care, these children gain the opportunity to live active, joyful lives.

We express our deepest gratitude to St. Nicholas Children's Hospital, the First Medical Association of Lviv, and the Neurosurgery Department at Orlyk Street.

The Head of the Neurosurgery Department, Taras Mykytyn, and attending physician Ihor Ihorovych Homeniuk, along with their team, became true lifesavers for little Olya.

Thanks to your professionalism, care, and dedication, the girl received a chance at a new life. Every step you take brings change to children's lives.

We are endlessly grateful to every doctor, resuscitator, anesthesiologist, nurse, and staff member who participated in treating the little one. You are not just doing your job — you are giving hope and creating miracles.
