The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Okhmatdyt is a place where miracles happen!
Today, we want to express our sincere gratitude to this department, led by Larysa Vasylivna Nikonova. This is where the most critical newborns from all over Ukraine are saved, giving them a chance at life from their very first moments.
Here, resuscitators, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, neurosurgeons, and pediatricians work as a highly skilled team, fighting daily for premature babies, those born with severe pathologies, or in critical conditions. Their dedication and professionalism truly create miracles.
Today, we give special thanks for saving little Yan – a boy who went through intensive care and underwent a complex brain surgery. The hardest stage is over – the crisis has been overcome, and now little Yan is in the department, preparing for discharge.
Every child saved in this department is a small miracle made possible by the coordinated efforts of intensive care doctors, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and all those who tirelessly fight for the lives of newborns.
And, as always, St. Nicholas visited the little patients of Okhmatdyt. He doesn’t come on fixed dates, but when children need support the most. His gifts bring warmth and hope to families facing difficult challenges.
We sincerely thank St. Nicholas’ helpers – Liudmyla Omokoh and Svitlana Shevchuk – for their wonderful gifts for Yan.
Thank you to everyone who helps! Thank you to the doctors who give newborns a chance at life!
