Friends, we have very bright and long-awaited news – our little ward, little Ostap, has been discharged from the hospital to go home.
Not so long ago, this baby was going through a difficult battle for his life and health.
Little Ostap underwent important neurosurgical brain surgeries during which shunt systems were placed to help drain excess fluid, control intracranial pressure and protect the child from dangerous complications.
Behind us – worries, hospital wards, constant medical supervision, anxious expectations and a great struggle for the future of a little child.
And today the most important thing – little Ostap is already home.
Returning home is an extremely important stage.
This means that the boy's condition has stabilized and the most difficult period is behind him.
Now he is with his family, in love, care and warmth, where he can gradually recover and gain strength.
Our warmest words of gratitude to the team of St. Nicholas Children's Hospital – neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, intensive care specialists, nurses and the entire multidisciplinary team that fights for children's lives every day.
Your professionalism, experience, humanity and daily work give young patients the most precious thing – a chance for life and a future.
Special sincere thanks to the head of the neurosurgery department Taras Mykytyn and the attending physician Ihor Ihorovych Homeniuk – for confident decisions, precise work, care and fight for little Ostap's life. It is thanks to such doctors that the most complex diagnoses become rescue stories.
And from the bottom of our hearts, we thank each of you, friends.
It is thanks to you that little Ostap received the opportunity to go through this difficult journey and return home.
Recovery and monitoring are still ahead, but now the most important thing is that the baby is home, next to his closest ones.
Thank you for being with our children.
Together we are a big heart that saves children.
