Little Matvii is celebrating his first birthday.
Today we want to share a story that can be described with one word – miracle.
Exactly one year ago, he began his life not at home, not in a warm crib, but in the intensive care unit.
From his first moments, he fought for what many take for granted – to live, to breathe, to grow.
In this year, little Matvii has endured more than most adults ever could:
– more than seventeen neurosurgical operations
– months in intensive care and critical care units
– constant risks and daily struggle
But today he is celebrating his first and most meaningful birthday.
With his mother by his side. With love. With a life he has fought for.
This is the victory of a little heart that never gave up.
Matvii's story is one of those where medicine sought every possible way.
When standard protocols weren’t enough, solutions were created step by step.
Many specialists took part – neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, nephrologists, urologists, pediatricians, rehabilitation experts.
It was multidisciplinary teamwork that gave Matvii his chance.
We are immensely grateful to the doctors of Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital – those who create miracles every day.
Special thanks to:
– Pavlo Mykolayovych Plavskyi – head of the neurosurgery department
– the entire team of neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, intensive care doctors, pediatricians, and nurses
– Maksym Ponomarenko, who stepped in at the most critical moments
Your strength, knowledge, and hearts paved the way for Matvii to reach this day.
We provided surgical supplies, supported the family, and responded to every urgent need.
Each operation, each step – is a shared path of doctors, donors, partners, and everyone who stayed close.
Thank you to everyone who helped – with donations, prayers, reposts, support, warmth, and belief.
Happy first birthday, little Matvii!
Grow up healthy, brave, and happy.
You are already a winner.
And we are here – today and always.
Together we are a big heart!
