Friends, we have news about our ward Kyrylo, who continues his fight for recovery in Austria.
You already know this boy's story.
On July 17, a Russian strike drone hit his family's house in the Chernihiv region. The parents and three children were injured. The most severe injuries were sustained by Kyrylo – the boy has a large affected area of skin and deep burn wounds.
From the first days after the tragedy, our team has been staying close to the family. We maintained constant contact with doctors, provided the children with necessary medical supplies and specialized nutrition, and offered the family psychological and legal support.
Due to the severity of Kyrylo's condition, his evacuation required a separate complex medical route: the boy was transported by intensive care ambulance to Poland, and from there by a specialized medical flight – to Austria.
Today, Kyrylo continues his treatment at an Austrian clinic. Every successfully completed stage is a small victory. Because behind it lies the enormous work of doctors and the incredible strength of Kyrylo himself.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank the clinic team in Austria, which is fighting for the boy's health today. We thank the Ukrainian doctors from the Chernihiv region and Kyiv, who were the first to receive the children after the Russian attack, stabilized their condition and made further treatment possible.
We thank every one of our benefactors. Your support allows us not to leave the family alone with this tragedy – to help from the first days after the tragedy and stay by their side throughout treatment and recovery.
We continue to stay in touch with the family and accompany Kyrylo on this long journey.
There are still many difficult stages ahead. But we truly believe that step by step, Kyrylo will go through them and one day return to what a child should have instead of hospitals, surgeries and dressings – to his ordinary childhood.
Friends, keep Kyrylo in your thoughts and support his family.
Together we are a big heart that saves children.
