Friends, we are sharing news about our Kyrylo.
7-year-old Kyrylo, who suffered severe burns as a result of a Russian drone strike on his family's home in the Chernihiv region, continues his treatment in Austria.
At a specialized clinic in Graz, the boy underwent his first skin graft surgery yesterday. The surgery was successful.
Currently, little Kyrylo's condition is stable. Long-term treatment, more surgeries, wound care, rehabilitation and a long road to recovery still lie ahead. But today, we celebrate another small victory on this difficult journey.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank the hospital team for their professionalism, care and fight for the health of Ukrainian children. We thank the doctors, nurses and the entire clinic team who are doing everything possible to help Kyrylo recover.
Boundless gratitude to the Ukrainian doctors from Chernihiv region and Kyiv, who from the very first moments after the tragedy fought for the children's lives, stabilized their condition and made the next stage of treatment abroad possible.
We thank the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Austria, the Ministries of Internal Affairs of both countries, international partners, benefactors and everyone who contributed to organizing the medical evacuation. Thanks to joint efforts, little Kyrylo and his brother received a chance for highly specialized treatment.
We remain in touch with the family every day and continue to support them. Together with his mother, we believe that recovery awaits Kyrylo.
The boy's mother said words that touch everyone's heart today:
«As a mother of three sons who were affected, I am holding on with all my might. I simply have no right to give up. I am holding on for the sake of my beloved boys. We will endure everything and will definitely recover.»
