Kira. A story of strength that you helped write.
Little Kira was born with a diagnosis of Spina Bifida, and from the first days of her life, her path has not been easy.
Operating rooms, hospitals, long waits. Eleven surgeries on the brain and spinal cord. A struggle that is hard to imagine – and which she endured together with you.
We have been by Kira's side since birth. All these years – step by step, stage by stage – thanks to your support, trust, and kind hearts.
Today, Kira is already 8 years old.
She goes to school, draws, builds snowmen, and reads poetry. She rejoices in her small and big victories.
Her smile speaks more than any diagnosis.
Spina Bifida is not a sentence when there is love nearby.
When there are people who have not turned away.
When there are those who believe in a child even when the path is difficult.
This winter, St. Nicholas came to Kira. Not a fairy-tale one – a real one.
Through the kind hearts of the benefactors of the "St. Nicholas from Abroad" campaign, through the incredible Lyudmyla Omokoh, through people who for many years give children not just gifts, but a feeling: you are important, you are not alone, you have a future.
Kira is the living answer to the question of why we do all this.
She is proof that miracles are born where people unite for a child.
We thank everyone who has been by Kira's side all these years.
Your kindness stays with children for a long time – and changes lives.
