Become an Earth Angel for a child's heart!

Five years of support and struggle – little Vitaliy is home

Friends, we begin the week with truly good news. Our little Vitaliy has been discharged home.

We were especially worried about this boy. Because little Vitaliy has been our ward since birth. For five years, we have been by his and his family's side: through the very first diagnoses, the first surgeries, difficult decisions, and moments when it was scary even to breathe. We have seen his entire journey – and that is why this discharge is special for us.

After a difficult period of treatment and urgent neurosurgical intervention, little Vitaliy returned home. This is the moment we all prayed for, supported, and did not give up.

Five years of little Vitaliy's life are a continuous struggle. He has lived with a shunt system since birth, and every complication is a real threat to his life. When shunt dysfunction occurred and a dangerous inflammatory process began in the brain, the countdown was literally in hours.

Thanks to the replenished Emergency Fund, we were able to act immediately – without waiting or pauses. We provided all the necessary consumable materials so that doctors could intervene in time and save the child.

Sincere thanks to the team of St. Nicholas Children's Hospital – neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, resuscitators, and nurses. Your professionalism, experience, and humanity are what bring children back to life every day and give families hope where it seemed there was none left.

Special thanks to the head of the neurosurgery department, Taras Mykytyn, for balanced decisions, responsibility for every child's life, for the calm you give parents in the most difficult moments, and for the future that children receive thanks to your work. It is doctors like you who change stories of diagnoses into stories of life.

We are endlessly grateful to our Earthly Angels – the family of Anastasiia and Yuriy. You have once again become the support that holds a child's life in the most critical moments.

Special thanks to Alina and Olena Semykina – for constant support and replenishment of the Emergency Fund. It is thanks to such people that we can act instantly when every minute counts and be with children not in words, but in deeds.

We thank everyone who was with little Vitaliy on this long journey. Together we are a big heart that saves children.
