Friends, today is a special day – our little Solomiia has been discharged from the hospital and is going home.
From the first days of her life, this tiny girl was not just growing and discovering the world – she was fighting for her life and health.
Due to hydrocephalus, little Solomiia went through an incredibly difficult treatment journey. Five brain surgeries. Five times her family waited outside the operating room. Five complex interventions, after which her little body had to recover again and again.
There were intensive care, constant medical supervision, difficult decisions, anxiety and a tremendous fight for this little girl's health.
And today we can finally write the words we have been waiting for: little Solomiia is going home.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank the great team of NDСL Okhmatdyt – the hospital where little Solomiia was accompanied through different stages of her difficult treatment.
Special gratitude to the neonatal surgery department, where the girl was nursed at the very beginning of her fight.
Deep respect to the intensive care doctors who were there in the most difficult moments, monitored her condition around the clock and fought for her little life.
Sincere gratitude to the team of the pediatric neurosurgery department, where little Solomiia underwent complex brain surgeries. This department of NDСL Okhmatdyt specializes, among other things, in treating children with hydrocephalus and other complex brain and spinal cord pathologies.
Special words of gratitude to Pavlo Plavskyi – head of the pediatric neurosurgery department of NDСL Okhmatdyt, neurosurgeons Yevhen Neimanovskyi and Oleksandr Voloshchuk, and the entire team of neurosurgeons who fought for little Solomiia's health.
And today we want to separately thank Svitlana Tsytnaruk, Roman and their entire charitable community.
Thanks to Svitlana's help, one of little Solomiia's surgeries was fully provided with everything necessary. This is the case when a benefactor's support turns into a very concrete result – necessary materials reach doctors on time, and the child receives the needed treatment without delays.
We thank every benefactor, our partners and everyone who has been by little Solomiia's side all this time. For help, donations, shares, prayers, kind words. Thanks to you, our team could provide the girl with necessary medical supplies and support the family on this extremely difficult journey.
We thank TM Betis for the wonderful outfits for discharge – for the opportunity to make this long-awaited day even warmer and more festive for children and their families.
We thank the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine for the warm knitted items for the girl. In such seemingly simple things, one feels true care, which is especially needed by the family after a difficult period of treatment.
And we sincerely thank our Swiss partners Switlo for the donated diapers for our little wards. This is a daily necessity and at the same time tangible support for families who, together with their little ones, go through a difficult journey of treatment and recovery.
We thank every partner for helping us support children comprehensively – from life-saving treatment to care, warmth and everyday essentials.
Today behind this discharge stands the enormous work of doctors, the strength of little Solomiia, the love of her family and the support of hundreds of caring people.
Five brain surgeries are behind us.
Now we want most of all for little Solomiia to have as much ordinary childhood ahead as possible – mother's hugs, first words and steps, games, smiles and small daily discoveries.
Together we are a big heart that saves children.
