Summer heat +40°C, 1400 km, two days on the road, and air conditioning at an extra charge at the train station – a "double room" with upper bunks lifted…

This was the route: Kyiv-Kherson-Mykolaiv-Kyiv.

But it also meant visits to our beneficiaries in four (!) regional hospitals and a children's home in Mykolaiv, where almost every child feels like your own. They all run to greet you because each has their own story of surgery or treatment.

I managed to accomplish everything I planned, but the most important part was offering support to those who had lost hope and were waiting for a miracle. Tomorrow, we are discharging Sofiia because her mom and dad have come for her!

And it’s a true miracle! A girl from the children’s home, whom we all helped with treatment, is being taken into a family. Now she will have a loving family and, most importantly, parents who will never let her down.

The emotions are overwhelming, but this is what makes life worth living. We can all change lives; we just need to want to help!
