Urgent help for little Oleksandr with severe brain defects
Needed for surgical intervention: 372 900 UAH
Little Oleksandr has been fighting for life since his first days. The boy was born with very complex congenital defects. He has Spina Bifida, only one kidney, a congenital hand defect, and severe brain damage.
From birth, doctors discovered serious disorders of the central nervous system: meningoencephalocele, which has already been operated on, and hydrocephalus – fluid accumulation in the brain. Later, his condition was complicated by infections that led to even more brain damage.
Now little Oleksandr's brain has multiple cystic changes that interfere with vital functions. This causes dangerous intracranial pressure, seizures and a constant threat to life.
The only chance to help is through several stages of complex neurosurgical interventions. Doctors must restore the flow of fluid from the brain and stabilize his condition. Without these surgeries, the consequences could be irreversible.
But treatment requires special supplies and implants that the family cannot afford on their own.
Little Oleksandr has already gone through an incredibly difficult journey. And now he needs our support to get a chance to live.
