Do you know how tightly an orphan child hugs?

Only a child who has never known a mother's hug hugs that way.
Who does not remember the smell of mom. Who never fell asleep in the arms of the dearest person.

But she knows something else. She knows that strangers can become family.
That someone can come and not pass by. To hug. To warm. To stay close.

These hugs are about trust.
About gratitude without words. About hope that appears where there was almost none.

We see these hugs every day.
In hospitals. In the social center.
In the eyes of children who are learning to trust people again.

Today, on Hug Day, we want to thank each and every one of you.

Thank you for being the ones who hug children when the world was too cold.
For giving warmth to orphaned children, children with serious diagnoses, children who have experienced loss, war and pain.

Your hugs are a vital support.
