Kindness without borders. How Sofiia Sokol helped Ukrainian children with cancer

True miracles happen when people open their hearts. This time, the initiator of such a miracle was 17-year-old Sofiia Sokol, a student at Godolphin School and a finalist of Ukraine Global Scholars 2022. Originally from Novodnistrovsk, Chernivtsi region, even while studying abroad, Sofiia remembers those in need back home.

At the Godolphin School Christmas Fair, Sofiia organized a charity fundraiser that collected £205.70 to support four Ukrainian children undergoing treatment at Okhmatdyt Hospital.

Who benefited from the funds raised:

• Oleksandr, 10 – received winter clothes, shoes, art supplies, and sweets.
• Oleksandr, 8 – his mother received financial assistance for his treatment.
• Karina, 7 – received a warm suit, onesie, underwear, and festive treats.
• Markiyan, 1 – received toys and sweets, bringing joy during these challenging times.

This initiative proved once again that kindness knows no borders, and love and care can change lives even in the hardest times.
