Another step towards opening a new space for families

Renovation of the second part of the Social Center "Mother and Child" continues.

And today we want to start with words of gratitude.

We sincerely thank Denys and his family for their help, thanks to which we were able to continue the renovation and take another step closer to opening a new space for our children and their families.

Step by step, we are equipping the second part of the Center to be able to accommodate more families who come to Kyiv for treatment, surgeries, examinations and rehabilitation.

Currently, renovation and equipping of bathrooms are underway. It is important for us that the Center is not only cozy, but also accessible and barrier-free for children with different needs.

Among our wards are children after complex brain and spinal surgeries, with congenital developmental defects, musculoskeletal disorders and mobility limitations.

Thanks to the support of our partner Vitalii Stetsenko, everything necessary for equipping the bathrooms has been purchased – plumbing, sinks, as well as special equipment for creating a barrier-free space: handrails, support structures and other equipment for children with health impairments and mobility issues.

For a child who uses a wheelchair, is recovering after surgery or temporarily has limited mobility, a properly equipped bathroom is primarily about safety, comfort and the opportunity to be more independent.

We separately thank the Epicenter K team for their support and the discount provided on the purchase of necessary equipment. Thanks to this, we can use charitable funds more efficiently, directing the saved resources to other needs of the Center and our wards.

Our Social Center is a place where families can stay during a child's treatment, wait for surgeries and examinations, remain between treatment stages and recover after the hospital. Here, a mother can take a breath, and a child can be a child, not a patient.

There is still a lot of work ahead. But every completed stage brings us closer to the day when we will open the doors of the second part of the Center and be able to accommodate even more families.

Because our help does not end with surgery or discharge. We stay as long as the child and their family need support.

Together we are a big heart that saves children.
